DR. MELINDA SURDACKI
PEDIATRIC OPTOMETRIST, BINOCULAR VISION SPECIALIST, DEVELOPMENTAL OPTOMETRIST, THERAPEUTIC OPTOMETRIST
Dr. Surdacki received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Texas Christian University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston College of Optometry where she also completed a pediatric and binocular vision residency and was a member of the Gold Key Honor Society.
After completing her residency, Dr. Surdacki joined the faculty at the University of Houston College of Optometry as an Associate Professor. During that time, she conducted binocular vision research, served as attending doctor in the pediatric and specialty binocular vision clinics, and was a co-founder of the NOVA clinic, a clinic for non-verbal special needs patients of all ages.
Dr. Surdacki moved to the north Texas area in 1994 with her husband and two boys to pursue private practice. She is a well-known and respected doctor among her patients and peers alike.
Dr. Surdacki is a founding member of the VOLT team, a vision-health mission team of the United Methodist Church which provides eye exams and glasses in disadvantaged areas in the US as well as Africa and Central America. She enjoys traveling, cooking, college football (GO FROGS!), and spending time with friends and family.
